Last weekend saw the return reetsweet’s summer fair at the Leeds corn exchange.
There was over 25 stalls full to the brim with incredible handmade craft items.
Reetsweet started life as a blog run by Rebecca Drury. After working as a personal shopper Rebecca started the reetsweet blog in November 2009. With a great love of handmade crafts she was desperate to help bring craft to the high street so in November 2010 just one year after starting her blog she started organising craft events.
There have been many reetsweet fairs in her home town of Leeds and they are starting to expand into other cities, most recently Sheffield.
Reetsweet is making a stand for quality handmade products on their website they say:
“For too long handmade has had a dusty, fuddy duddy reputation but at Reetsweet we aim to shake that image off and bring you something extraordinary.”
The recent reetsweet event lived up to its promise and offered a much needed and fantastic break from the boring mass produced fare on the high street.
There was all sorts available at the fair; from jewellery, art, accessories and all kinds of other handmade oddities.
Highlights included; handmade soap from the Leeds Soap Co; tribal jewellery from Hey Sosi; ceramics and textiles from Jade Devall Designs and Love Lottie’s textiles and furnishings.
The next event will be on the 16th of October so make sure you get your hotels in Leeds booked. It will be the perfect place to get some early Christmas shopping done. In the meantime check out our craft bundle for a taste of what to expect.
LOOK who won best stall? Jade Devall Designs of course! Well done Jade, enjoy your goody bag! fb.me/1qz0bbAtO
